ProjectWise Geospatial Explorer Help

Geospatial Security and Permissions

The geospatial extension to ProjectWise Explorer respects the access control settings that are already defined for objects (folders and documents) and users in ProjectWise. This means that the Geospatial tab on document and folder property dialogs will only display the spatial locations of objects for which the current user has read access.

If the user is a spatial administrator, that user will also be able to create, modify, and delete spatial locations for documents and folders, assuming that their ProjectWise access control settings and user settings also permit them to do so. For example, to modify the spatial location of a document, the user must already have write access to that document AND that user must be a spatial administrator in this datasource.

Note: To make a user a spatial administrator, the setting This user is a Spatial Administrator must be turned on for that user in ProjectWise Administrator (User Properties dialog > Spatial tab). By default, only the ProjectWise administrator account has this setting enabled.
